Kyle, TX (April 28, 2019) On the night of April 27th, a fatal hit-and-run accident occurred near the I-35 access road and Windy Hill Road. A pickup truck crashed into a sedan that contained five passengers at about 9:20 p.m.

When the paramedics arrived, they found a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old dead at the scene. Three others were injured and immediately taken to the closest hospital for treatment.

Reports state that the 61-year-old driver in the pickup truck, Macario Hernandez, fled the scene of the accident on foot. The Hays County Sheriff’s Office deputies quickly captured him and took him into custody. He has been charged with two counts of accident causing death and three counts of accident causing serious injuries.

Our thoughts are with the two deceased victim’s families as they grieve over their lost loved ones. We also hope the three remaining injured victims fully recover.
