Hale County, TX – Two Killed In Vehicle Crash On US Highway 70
Hale County, TX (June 11, 2019) – On Monday, June 10, emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at 3:15 p.m. near the intersection of US Highway 70 and Sun Road.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a semi-truck was traveling down the roadway when its trailer came detached. The detached trailer crossed over the center lane and struck a passenger car head-on.
Emergency crews had to extricate the vehicle using the Jaws of Life to help three people exit. Two of the occupants of the vehicle were transported to Covenant Hospital via ambulance. A third victim was transported to University Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities later confirmed that two victims involved in the crash succumbed to their injuries.
