Harrison County, TX – Collision On I-20 Results In One Fatality & Two Injured

Harrison County, TX (June 14, 2019) – On June 13, around 6 p.m., emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 20 just one mile east of Waskom.

Reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety indicate that 53-year-old Todd Allen Weldon was traveling west along the highway in a 2007 Freightliner towing a semi-truck, when he failed to control his speed. As a result, Weldon’s vehicle struck a 2012 Cadillac CTS, which was driven by 65-year-old Sandra A. Myers.

The impact of the collision forced the Cadillac into a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe, which was driven by 33-year-old Marie Michaud. The impact then forced the Hyundai to crash into a 2018 Peterbilt truck driven by 60-year-old Charles Michael Steller.

Sandra Myers sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both Michaud and Weldon were injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of Sandra Myers. Our thoughts are with them at this time.
