Amarillo, TX – Motorcyclist Injured in Motorcycle Accident on IH 40
Amarillo, TX (June 23, 2019) On the 22nd of June, a motorcycle accident happened on Interstate Highway 40 at Interstate 27. A 2007 Suzuki 1300 motorcycle was traveling northbound when the rider lost control, crossed into the next lane, and rear-ended a large box trailer hooked onto the back of a semi-tractor.
When the paramedics and other emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found the motorcyclist lying on the highway seriously injured and rushed him to the nearest hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Crews had to temporarily shut down a portion of the IH 40 as they cleared up the collision.
The Amarillo Police Department is still investigating the cause of the collision, but they believe speed may have played a role.
