Deaf Smith County, TX (June 30, 2019) On the evening of June 29th, a fatal truck accident happened on FM 809. A 2016 Freightliner truck tractor was headed south on FM 809 when a 2017 Hyundai Accent turned left from FM 1062 without yielding the right of way. The truck crashed into the Hyundai and then rolled over into the east barrow ditch. It landed right side up facing east. The accident happened about five miles north of Dawn at approximately 7:11 p.m.

When the paramedics arrived, they found the driver of the tuck dead at the scene. He has been identified as 38-year-old Shawn Parsons. The driver of the Hyundai, 22-year-old Jacob San-Miguel, did not sustain any injuries.
