Orange, TX – 2 Injured in Head-On Car Accident on Dupont Dr
Orange, TX (June 30, 2019) On the morning of June 30th, a head-on car accident happened in the 2100 block of Dupont Drive. Two vehicles collided head-on for unknown reasons right after 6:00 a.m. The impact of the collision caused two people to be trapped inside their vehicles.
When emergency crews arrived, they used the jaws of life to remove both people from their vehicles at around 7:00 a.m. An Orange County correctional officer was somehow involved in the collision. Both injured victims were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Crews shut down the road for about an hour as they worked to clear up both vehicles, remaining auto parts, and debris.
We truly hope both injured victims fully recover after receiving treatment.
Head-On Collisions in Texas
Sadly, head-on collisions occur more frequently than they should throughout Texas. Generally, one of the drivers is either distracted, under the influence, or asleep at the wheel when their vehicles drift into opposite lanes and crash into other vehicles. Head-on collisions often cause catastrophic or fatal injuries since they’re considered the most dangerous type of accident for anyone to be involved in. Two vehicles colliding head-on at 45 miles per hour is like colliding at 90 miles per hour, which results in more severe damages.
