Harris County, TX – San Jacinto River Crash Victim Identified
Harris County, TX (July 3, 2019) – On Sunday, June 30 police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on the San Jacinto River.
According to reports, a crew of individuals was out on a boat when their vessel collided with a retaining wall along the east side of the river.
The impact of the collision caused one person to go overboard while two others on board were injured.
The driver of the boat, 41-year-old Galan Ruiz, was transported to an area hospital for serious injuries.
After twenty-four hours, the body of the man thrown overboard, who was identified as 33-year-old Luis Gonzalez, was located in the water. Gonzalez was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident.
At this time, intoxication assault and murder charges are pending against Ruiz for this incident.
The collision remains under investigation at this time.
