Austin, TX – Multi-Vehicle Car Accident and Fire Causes I-35 Detour
Austin, TX (July 6, 2019) – Traffic was detoured on Interstate 35 earlier on Saturday after a multi-vehicle car accident.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the crash occurred around 11:15 a.m. and resulted in a fire that closed I-35 in both directions at Cesar Chavez Street. Traffic was detoured to Frontage Road in the meantime.
The Austin Fire Department said the accident involved four vehicles and 10 adults. Two vehicles in the crash were burned, and the Austin-Travis County EMS transported one adult to the local hospital with minor injuries.
