Midland County, TX – 1 Dead, Six Injured In Multi-Vehicle Accident on TX-349 & Co Rd 140

Midland County, TX (July 7, 2019) – A two-vehicle car accident in Midland County on Friday, July 5th, has left one dead.

According to officials, the accident happened at 6:25 a.m. on State Highway 349 and County Road 140.

The driver of a 2014 GMC Sierra pickup traveling northbound on SH 349 attempted to turn left onto CR 140 and failed to yield to a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup. Rene Guadalupe Carrillo Mata, 26, was a passenger in the GMC Sierra and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and second passenger in the Sierra were taken to the hospital but were treated and released. The four occupants of the Dodge suffered nonlife-threatening injuries and are in stable condition at Midland Memorial Hospital, though one has since been released.

The accident remains under investigation.
