San Antonio, TX – Update: Carlos Perez Identified As Driver In Injury Crash On Roosevelt Ave

San Antonio, TX (July 9, 2019) – Local police officials have identified the driver involved in a deadly vehicle collision that took the lives of a mother and her two children on Sunday evening, July 7th.

Authorities responded to the incident around 8:00 p.m at the 2700 block of Roosevelt Ave. According to reports, the driver of a green Ford Explorer, now identified as Carlos Perez, lost control of his vehicle while traveling westbound on Roosevelt Ave. Perez crashed into a silver Nissan in the eastbound lane.

Officials claim that the driver of the Nissan also lost control of her vehicle upon seeing Perez coming towards her. She attempted to avoid the crash but was unable to do so.

Both the mother and her son sustained serious injuries while her daughter was in critical condition. All three were taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center for immediate medical treatment.

It is suspected that Perez was intoxicated at the time of the accident. As toxicology reports confirmed the intoxication suspicion, Perez was charged with Intoxication, Assault, and Retaliation.
