Laredo, TX – Oziel Martinez, Juan Edgardo Moncada Killed In Crash On I-35 At TX-255
Laredo, TX (July 10, 2019) – The victims of a deadly crash in Laredo have been identified. The incident took place at the intersection of Interstate 35 and TX-255 on Friday, July 5th, in the morning around 7:20 a.m.
The men were identified as 25-year-old Oziel Martinez and 56-year-old Juan Edgardo Moncada. Both victims were residents of Laredo.
Martinez was reported as driving westbound in a 2007 Kenworth that was hauling a 2006 Drag Master trailer along TX-255 when he took the exit for Interstate 35 N.
Martinez struck a Moncada who was traveling northbound in a 2007 Cub Cadet truck tractor driven pulling a 2009 utility trailer on I-35.
Both vehicles flipped over on impact, and Martinez was ejected from his vehicle. The accident caused the Cub Cadet truck tractor to catch on fire.
Both Martinez and Moncada were pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics.
No other injuries were reported at the scene.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
