Pecos County, TX – Update: Gerald Harris Killed In Crash On I-10

Pecos County, TX (July 10, 2019) – The victim of a fatal pedestrian accident on Interstate 10 in Pecos County has been identified by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The deadly crash happened at around 4:30 p.m. near Fort Stockton on Tuesday, July 9th. 

The victim was identified as Gerald Harris of Arizona. Harris was walking along Interstate 10 when an oncoming Toyota traveling east hit him. The driver then veered off the roadway into an embankment. 

Responding emergency units pronounced Harris dead at the scene of the collision. 

The driver of the Toyota was also identified as Richard Lynn. Lynn sustained serious injuries and was transported to  Pecos County Memorial Hospital for immediate medical assistance.

The crash is currently under investigation. 

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Gerald Harris at this time.  Our thoughts are with Richard Lynn and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
