Odessa, TX – Veronica Garza and Gabriel Montoya Killed in Collision on 42nd St

Odessa, TX (July 13, 2019) On the evening of July 11th, a two-vehicle collision happened at the intersection of 42nd Street and Kermit Highway. A Kia Optima was speeding in the westbound lanes of 42nd Street when it struck the curb and crashed into a parked 18-wheeler truck. This rear-end collision took place in the parking lot of Stripes around 5:00 p.m.

When the ambulance and other emergency personnel arrived at the intersection, they found two occupants in the Kia dead at the scene. They have been identified as 38-year-old Veronica Garza and 38-year-old Gabriel Montoya.

Investigators are still determining why the Kia was speeding.
