Custer County, TX – Roman Romero Killed In Highway 92 Collision
Custer County, TX (July 15, 2019) – On July 11, just after 8:40 a.m., emergency crews reported to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Highway 92 just 2 miles west of Merna, TX.
Reports from police indicate that a 2002 Dodge Pickup truck was traveling down the highway when the driver crossed over the center divider, for unknown reasons. In crossing over the center margin, the Dodge collided with a 2016 Ford F-350 hauling a trailer hauling a skid loader head-on.
The impact of the collision caused the Dodge to flip up onto the driver’s side. The Ford’s trailer broke loose from the truck and tipped over, pinning the skid loader against the Ford truck.
The driver of the dodge, identified as 40-year-old Roman Romero, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident.
The driver of the Ford, 49-year-old Kevin Jensen, and a rear passenger in the vehicle, 19-year-old Erik Jensen, were both trapped inside the vehicle. Both victims had to be extricated from the truck and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital via airplane for treatment.
A third occupant of the truck, Brock Jenson, was able to get out of the truck without injuries.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
