Cass County, TX – Monica Velazquez ID’d As Victim Of TX Highway 77 Crash
Cass County, TX (July 18, 2019) – On Wednesday, July 17, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Texas Highway 77 in Cass County.
Reports from DPS indicate that at approximately 8 a.m., 30-year-old Monica Velazquez was traveling east on Highway 77. In an attempt to pass another vehicle on the roadway, Velazquez entered into the westbound lane, where her vehicle was struck head-on by a semi-truck driven by 60-year-old Debra Jones.
Velazquez sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
