Dallam, TX – Crash On US 87 Leaves One Dead & Four Injured
Dallam, TX (July 18, 2019) – On July 17, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle collision on US 87.
Reports from DPS indicate that around 11:40 a.m., 44-year-old Jason Booth was stopped in a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse at a stop sign, along with 69-year-old Robert Crout in a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe, when 36-year-old Melissa Ball failed to control her speed and collided with the Tahoe in her 2014 Dodge Durango.
The impact of the collision forced the Tahoe into the Traverse. All three vehicles then came to rest on the shoulder of the northbound lane.
Crout sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger in the Tahoe, 66-year-old Kathy Crout, was transported to Coon Memorial Hospital in Dalhart.
Ball was transported to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo by air transport.
Booth and his passenger, 44-year-old Melissa Booth, were both provided medical attention at the scene.
At this time, the collision remains under investigation.
