Victoria, TX – Five Victims In Highway 59 Crash Identified
Victoria, TX (July 23, 2019) – Around 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision on US Highway 59 just northeast of Victoria.
Reports from DPS indicate that a white 2016 Ford van was traveling north along Highway 59 when, for unknown reasons, it collided with the rear left side of a semi-truck. The impact from the collision sent the van over toward the southbound lane where it collided with a 2015 Ford F-250 pickup truck.
Five occupants of the van, who were identified as 42-year-old Nora Gabriela Chavez, 45-year-old Oscar Chavez, 47-year-old Adrian Rodriguez Leal, a 6-year-old boy, and a 13-year-old girl, all sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident.
Five other occupants, as well as two occupants in the Ford pickup, were transported to Citizens Medical Center for treatment.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
