Lubbock, TX – Suzan Headrick Identified as West Loop 289 Victim
Lubbock, TX (July 25, 2019) – At approximately 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on West Loop 289.
According to reports, 56-year-old Suzan Headrick was traveling south on the loop in a 2018 Ford Expedition. After some distance, Headrick pulled her vehicle over and came to rest along the outside lanes to check on the trailer she was towing.
While stepped outside of her vehicle, with a 2011 Chevy Silverado stopped behind her, a 2012 Ford LP&L bucket truck traveling south crashed into the Silverado. The impact of the collision caused the Silverado to move forward into the Expedition’s trailer and striking Headrick.
Headrick sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three people inside Headrick’s truck sustained injuries and were transported to UMC for treatment.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
