UPDATE: Angelina County, TX – 1 Killed and 4 Injured in Deadly Car Accident on U.S. 69

Angelina County, TX (July 27, 2019) On the 25th of July, a deadly car accident took place on U.S. 69, about one mile north of Zavalla. A 17-year-old named Tyler Duke attempted to drive around another vehicle in a no-passing zone, which caused him to collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Lieutenant Stacy Seymore.

When the paramedics and other emergency crews arrived, they found Duke dead at the scene. His passengers, 20-year-old Charity Lawson and 16-year-old Faith Lawson were seriously injured, and both rushed to nearby hospitals. Charity was flown to a hospital in Conroe while Faith was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital and then transferred to Texas Children’s Hospital. Duke also had a 1-year-old in the vehicle that sustained minor injuries.

Lieutenant Seymore sustained two broken feet and a few broken ribs. He was also rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Authorities are still investigating the crash at this time.

Our thoughts are with Tyler Duke’s family as they grieve his loss. We wish Charity Lawson, Faith Lawson, the 1-year-old, and Lieutenant Stacy Seymore a complete and quick recovery.
