UPDATE: Axtell, TX – 1 Killed and 1 Injured in Two-Car Crash on State Hwy 31

Axtell, TX (July 27, 2019) On the 25th of July, a two-car crash happened on State Highway 31, near Farm-to-Market Road 2311. A 63-year-old man named James Stanton Jr. was turning onto State Highway 31 in a Ford SUV when he failed to yield the right of way for other vehicles. As a result, he collided with a Toyota pickup truck. The accident happened at around 10:00 a.m.

When emergency crews responded to the accident, they found a 16-year-old passenger inside of the Toyota dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota sustained injuries and was rushed to the closest hospital for treatment.

The accident is still being investigated by authorities.

Our thoughts are with the 16-year-old’s family at this time, and we wish the injured driver a fast recovery.
