Victoria, TX – 5 Killed and 7 Injured in Multi-Car Accident on U.S. 59
Victoria, TX (July 28, 2019) On the morning of July 28th, a fatal multi-car accident happened on U.S. 59 in South Texas. A van was traveling on the highway when it rear-ended a semi-truck that was carrying a flatbed trailer. Shortly after, the van then collided with a pickup truck that was headed southbound. The accident happened at around 11:00 a.m.
When the paramedics and other crews arrived to help, they found five occupants in the van dead at the scene, including a female driver, two men, and two kids. The remaining five occupants sustained injuries and were immediately helped by the paramedics. The driver of the pickup truck and a passenger both sustained serious injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The driver of the semi-truck was unharmed.
The police are still investigating the collision to determine what caused the van to collide into the semi-truck and pickup truck.
Our thoughts are with the families of the five deceased victims. We also wish the remaining seven injured victims a complete recovery.
