Longview, TX – Crash On West Birdsong Street Results In Injuries
Longview, TX (August 7, 2019) – At approximately 4:30 p.m. on August 6, the Longview Police Department and Longview Fire Department responded to a major motor vehicle accident at the intersection of West Birdsong Street and West Loop 281.
Police investigating the scene determined that the driver of a red Dodge Ram took evasive actions to avoid impact with a white pickup truck who ran a stop sign at the intersection. As a result, the Dodge Ram swerved into the middle lane, where it collided with a small blue sedan.
The impact of the collision sent the blue car spinning along the roadway where it collided with a brown car.
The driver of the white pickup truck did not stop their vehicle when the incident occurred.
In all, eight people were injured in the collision. One person was provided medical treatment at the scene. Seven others were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
