El Paso, TX – Pedestrian Killed in Crash on S Kansas St

El Paso, TX (October 2, 2019) – On September 30th, emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on the 500 block of South Kansas Street.

Reports from the El Paso Police Department indicated that 72-year-old Javier Garcia was crossing Kansas Street in a designated crossing area when he was struck by a black Chevrolet Suburban.

The driver of the Suburban, 26-year-old Steven Uribe, remained at the scene and was cooperative with authorities.

Garcia was transported to University Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
