Calhoun County, TX – 6 Injured in Major Collision on Highway 35
Calhoun County, TX (October 3, 2019) – On October 2nd, emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Highway 35 just after 6:20 a.m.
According to reports, four vehicles collided along Highway 35 just outside of Gate 6 of the Formosa Plant. A 2019 Ford F-150, which was driven by Miguel A. Diaz, was traveling north along the highway when it was struck from behind by a 2012 Kia Sorento. The impact of the collision pushed the Sorento out into the roadway where it was struck by a 2014 Mercedez-Benz.
At the same time, a 2015 Ford F-250 was traveling north along Highway 35 when it crashed into the car.
The driver of one vehicle, who was identified as Emilia Cline Lopez, was critically injured and transported to Herman Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Diaz, as well as his passenger, Roberto Carlos Castillo, were both injured in transported to Memorial Medical Center.
A fourth victim, Samantha Nicol Reyes as well as her passenger, Sonny Curtiss Wences, was also injured and transported to Memorial Medical Center.
David Easton Lehew was also injured in the collision and transported to Memorial Medical Center.
At this time, the collision remains under investigation.
