Head-On Collisions in Texas
In 2016, studies show that approximately 637 people lost their lives in Texas after being involved in head-on collisions. Head-on collisions occur when at least one vehicle veers into the opposite lane and collides with another oncoming vehicle. Drivers cause head-on collisions when they are under the influence, fatigued, or distracted. Other times head-on collisions occur due to lack of sufficient lighting, especially on rural roads. Under these circumstances, it’s difficult for drivers to discern which lane is the correct one and end up colliding into other vehicles.
