Jefferson County, TX – 3 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident on TX-73
Jefferson County, TX (October 6, 2019) A major multi-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 73 on the morning of October 5th, around 10:00 a.m. A black Ford Ranger pickup truck was traveling westbound on the highway when it veered across the center median and crashed into a white Ford pickup truck. As a result, the Ford pickup truck struck a Nissan and then rolled over several times before stopping.
The driver and passenger of the white Ford pickup truck ejected onto the road and sustained serious injuries. The paramedics transported them both to St. Elizabeth hospital for treatment. The driver has been identified as 44-year-old Jose Villegas of Mexico, and the passenger has been identified as 35-year-old Trinidad Gomez.
The driver of the Nissan and her 11-month old baby both sustained injuries and were transported to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas for treatment. The driver has been identified as 29-year-old Yiramis Barranco of Houston.
The accident is currently under investigation.
