El Paso, TX – Child Struck & Killed on Thorn Ave
El Paso, TX (October 10, 2019) – A pedestrian accident on Thorn Ave near the Roberts Elementary School resulted in fatal injuries for a young child.
On October 8th, a 7-year-old girl was crossing the 300 block of Thorn Ave with her 14-year-old sister when they were both struck by an SUV. The impact of the collision knocked both children to the ground. The 7-year-old was then run over by the vehicle.
The 14-year-old girl sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Unfortunately, the 7-year-old sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, who was identified as 26-year-old Marisol Castro Cervantes, remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
At this time, the collision remains under investigation.
