Pedestrian Accidents in Texas
Studies estimated nearly 7,000 pedestrian fatalities occurred in Texas last year. Even though drivers are expected to be aware of pedestrians at all times, distractions still occur. The most common distraction is the use of cell phones or other handheld devices while driving. Even if pedestrians are not walking within a marked crosswalk, drivers are still expected to yield or come to a complete stop for them.
