Tye, TX – House Fire on South St Leaves 1 Dead & 2 Injured
Tye, TX (October 15, 2019) – On October 13, emergency crews responded to the scene of a fire incident at 148 South Street.
According to reports, a fire broke out inside a home at approximately 3:30 a.m. Crews from the Tye Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Merkle, View, Potosi, and Abilene Fire Departments responded to the scene and were able to control the fire after several hours.
One person was trapped inside the home and incurred fatal injuries. The body of the victim was located at the scene.
A female victim was seriously injured in the fire and airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock for treatment. A second victim, who was identified as a male inside the home, was admitted into the ICU at Hendrick Medical Center in critical condition.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
