Waco, TX – Officer Hospitalized after Attack on Bosque Blvd

Waco, TX (October 16, 2019) – An on-the-job assault sent one officer to an area hospital on Tuesday.

At approximately 10:15 a.m. on October 15, emergency crews responded to the scene of attempted use of counterfeit money at a Dollar General store located at 4012 Bosque Blvd.

According to reports, a man attempted to pass a fake $100 at the register. A Waco police officer responded and attempted to apprehend the suspect. The suspect initiated a struggle and slammed the officer’s head against the front door of the store, causing extensive cracking to the glass.

Afterward, the suspect bit the officer on his forearm.

The officer was transported to a local hospital with broken bones in his hand and several cuts and lacerations.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
