Corpus Christi, TX – I-37 Crash Results in Fatal Injuries
Corpus Christi, TX (October 17, 2019) – At approximately 5:30 p.m. on October 16, emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 37.
According to reports, a 78-year-old Hispanic man was traveling down the interstate, in a dump truck, when an unknown driver cut him off near the intersection of Callicoate Road. The dump truck driver applied his brakes. The application of the brakes caused the dump truck to lock up and roll over before landing in a ditch.
The impact of the collision resulted in fatal injuries. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding crews.
The driver of the second vehicle fled the scene without stopping.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
