Houston, TX – S Loop E Freeway Victim Succumbs to Injuries, Driver Arrested
Houston, TX (October 22, 2019) – The victim injured in the S Loop E Freeway crash has succumbed to his injuries.
At 9:55 p.m. on October 9, emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the 7300 block of South Loop East Freeway. According to reports, a 59-year-old male pedestrian was walking across the South Loop East service road, in a crosswalk, when he was struck by a black Chevrolet Tahoe.
The driver of the Chevrolet fled the scene of the incident without stopping to render aid. The injured victim was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital and admitted in critical condition.
Authorities confirmed that the victim succumbed to his injuries on October 17.
The driver of the vehicle, 39-year-old Vince Edward Turner, was later apprehended and arrested for failure to stop and render aid.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
