Ector County, TX – Two Killed at Aghorn Energy Pump House on W 49th St

Ector County, TX (October 29, 2019) – A gas leak at an Aghorn Energy pump house leaves the worker and his wife deceased.

On October 26, 44-year-old Jacob Dean was called into work at Aghorn Energy. He was requested to check on the pump house located at 2216 West 49th Street in Odessa.

Dean reported to check on the pump house. As he opened the door, he was overcome by hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas, which was leaking out of the building. Dean suffered immediate fatal injuries.

After a short period, Dean’s wife Natalee drove to check on her husband with the couple’s 9-year-old and 6-year-old children. Natalee opened the door of the building to look for her husband and suffered H2S gas poisoning as well. The victim succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities arrived at the location a short time later and located the two victims and two children at the location. The two children suffered exposure and were transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.

At this time, the incident is under investigation.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the families of both Natalee and Jacob Dean. Our thoughts are with them at this time.
