Odessa, TX – UPDATE: Luz Maria Flores Angulo Killed in Collision on 42nd St
Odessa, TX (October 29, 2019) – The victim killed in a three-car crash on 42nd Street has been identified by police.
At approximately 11:11 p.m. on October 27, a speeding driver traveling down 42nd Street collided with a second vehicle, which was driven by Luz Marie Flores Angulo, near the intersection of Preston Smith Road. The impact of the collision sent the second vehicle into the rear-end of a third vehicle, driven by Tiana Garza.
Angulo was rushed to Medical Center Hospital where she was declared deceased. The passenger in Angulo’s vehicle, who was identified as Luis Flores, was transported to MCH with serious injuries.
The passenger in Garza’s vehicle, identified as Johnny Hinojos, was transported to MCH for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the speeding vehicle, who was identified as Edgar Mendoza Cruz, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.
At this time, the collision remains under investigation.
