Van Zandt, TX – 2 Officers Injured in Crash on TX-64

Van Zandt, TX (November 6, 2019) – A collision on State Highway 64 left two officers injured.

Around 4:35 p.m. on November 5, emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle accident on State Highway 64 near VZCO Regional Airport.

According to reports, two Wills Point Officers were attempting to apprehend a combative subject. As a struggle ensued, the suspect attempted to flee in the Officer’s patrol car. As the suspect pulled away, he struck one officer and drug the second one several feet along the roadway.

Both officers were injured in the incident and transported to a Tyler hospital for treatment.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
