Dallas, TX – 2 Injured in Car Accident on Elam Rd

Dallas, TX (December 1, 2019) On the 1st of December, a car accident occurred near Elam Road and South Buckner Boulevard in the Pleasant Grove area. According to reports, a police officer was responding to a call and had the emergency lights on while rushing to the scene. The call got canceled, so the officer turned off the emergency lights as he ran a red light at Elam Road. As a result, a vehicle who had the right of way struck the police car on the driver’s side. The accident happened at about 4:45 a.m.

The police officer and the driver of the other vehicle both sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Crews are still investigating the scene to finalize causation and liability.

Our thoughts are with both injured victims and their families at this time. We wish them both a speedy recovery.

Car Accidents in Texas

Dallas, TX – 2 Injured In Car Accident On Elam RdStudies show that police officers are twice as likely to cause an accident when they are responding to an emergency call. Under these circumstances, police officers are speeding, making sudden turns, and monitoring the communication technology inside of their vehicles. Unfortunately, if other drivers are not alert on the road, then it’s easy for drivers and police officers to collide into each other.
