Laredo, TX – Alfredo Romero Hit And Killed In DUI Accident On U.S. 83

Laredo, TX (December 14, 2019) A fatal DUI accident happened near the intersection of U.S. 83 and Pecan Street on December 7th. According to the Laredo police, a Ford Explorer crashed into the back of a Chevy Silverado at around 7:00 p.m.

As a result of the crash, the Ford Explorer crashed into the wall of Glamour & Beauty Family Salon, which is located near Paleteria La Chueca.

Just before hitting the wall, the Ford struck and killed a man who was leaving his work shift as a popsicle vendor. The deceased man has been identified as 55-year-old Alfredo Romero.

When the police arrived, they suspected the driver to be under the influence but he denied a breathalyzer and blood test. Police officers still arrested and charged him with driving under the influence and have requested a warrant for his blood testing. He may be charged with intoxication manslaughter depending on his blood test results. He has been identified as 31-year-old Pablo Antonio.

The accident is still under investigation at this time.

We send our condolences to the family of Alfredo Romero. Our thoughts are with them at this time.

DUI Accidents in Texas

Laredo, TX - Alfredo Romero Hit And Killed In DUI Accident On U.S. 83In 2018, there were 175 DUI accidents in Laredo, Texas, and 24 of those accidents resulted in fatalities. The city also had seven fatal pedestrian accidents that year, too. Unfortunately, it’s common for drunk drivers to accidentally cause fatal accidents that take the lives of innocent drivers and pedestrians. When drivers are under the influence, their vision is blurred so they are unable to clearly see traffic signs, other vehicles, and pedestrians. Because their negligent actions put everyone around them at risk, they should be held accountable for their actions, especially after harming someone.

At The Benton Law Firm, we help grieving families file wrongful death lawsuits against drivers who took the lives of their loved ones.
