Lubbock, TX – 2 Injured In Hit-And-Run Accident On Elkhart Ave

Lubbock, TX (December 14, 2019) A hit-and-run accident happened at about 3:30 p.m. on December 13th.

According to reports, a vehicle rear-ended another car that was stopped at a red light at the 1800 block of Elkhart Avenue. Shortly after hitting the vehicle, the suspect drove into the lot of a nearby business and spoke with the occupants inside of the other car. One of them told him that they needed medical assistance.

Before emergency crews arrived, the suspect drove into an apartment complex across the street, went inside briefly, and then fled the scene.

Two of the three occupants were taken to the University Medical Center for treatment. The third occupant did not receive medical attention.

The police are still investigating this accident and looking for the driver responsible.

Our thoughts are with the two injured victims and their families at this time. We wish them a complete recovery.

Other times drivers fear creating a criminal history and would rather attempt to escape the potential consequences of their actions. However, when drivers are eventually caught, they risk facing even worse consequences than they would have if they had remained at the scene.
