Cumby, TX – Officer Nicholas Geer Hit by Vehicle on I-30 N Service Rd

Cumby, TX (December 15, 2019) A vehicle struck a police officer on the evening of December 15th. According to reports, Officer Nicholas Geer was assisting a stranded woman near the side of the I-30 North Service Road along with another driver. They were trying to help her jump her stranded car. A vehicle then hit the car, which then hit Officer Geer. He ejected in a nearby grass area between the service road and the freeway.

Right before being hit, Geer was able to prevent the woman from being hit. The other driver was pinned between the two vehicles until emergency crews arrived.

The paramedics arrived and took Officer Geer and the other driver to the hospital for treatment. The police believe the other driver may have sustained a broken leg.

The accident is still under investigation by authorities.
