Austin, TX – Merry Daye ID’d as Bicyclist Killed in Crash on Cameron Rd

Austin, TX (December 19, 2019) – The bicyclist fatally injured in a collision on Cameron Road has been identified by police.

On December 16, at approximately 2:26 a.m., authorities were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the 6000 block of Cameron Road.

Preliminary investigation reports from the Austin Police Department indicate that a silver 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling along the roadway when it struck 45-year-old Merry Daye, who was addressing mechanical issues on her bicycle along the side of the road.

Daye was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas where she was declared deceased.

At this time, the Austin Police Department’s Vehicular Homicide Unit is investigating.
