Port Lavaca, TX – TX-35 Crash Results in Fatal Injuries
Port Lavaca, TX (December 20, 2019) – At 5:38 a.m., on December 19th, authorities responded to the scene of a three-vehicle collision on Texas Highway 35.
Reports from police indicate that 56-year-old Martin Islas was traveling south along the highway in a 1994 Chevrolet pickup truck as 41-year-old Roberto Delossantos was traveling in front of him in a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck.
At the same time, a 2011 Ford Expedition, which was driven by 23-year-old Juan Ellierh Bravo, was traveling northwest along the highway. Bravo fell asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle, causing it to cross over the center line and strike the Chevy and the Ford trucks.
The occupants of the Chevy, who were identified as Eloy Franco Bautista and 40-year-old Francis Lee Williams, were both injured and transported to Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
Islas incurred fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
Bravo was injured and transported to Citizen’s Medical Center for treatment.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
