Bicycle Accidents in Texas
In 2017, almost 800 bicyclists lost their lives in the United States. Most bicycle accidents occur at intersections due to a driver’s inattention. When drivers are distracted and not checking their surroundings, it’s easy to accidentally strike a rider when switching lanes or making turns. Because bicycles are not stable and riders aren’t wearing bodily protection, it’s easy for them to sustain life-threatening injuries. Drivers are expected to always look out for bicyclists on the road, especially at intersections because if they don’t, they may accidentally take someone’s life.
Immediate family members may be entitled to compensation after losing their loved ones in bicycle accidents caused by other drivers. At The Benton Law Firm, we help families file wrongful death lawsuits in order to attain the compensation they may be entitled to for medical bills, funeral expenses, and more.
