Margaret Marion Finch Killed, Two Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Northwest 24th Avenue and North Jefferson Street in Amarillo
Amarillo, TX. (April 2, 2020)- 32-year-old Margaret Marion Finch was killed, and two passengers were injured in a two-vehicle crash on April 1, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas. The crash occurred at about 9:50 p.m. on the Northwest 24th Avenue and North Jefferson Street intersection. Police reported that Finch was driving a 2005 Nissan Altima eastbound on Northwest 24th Avenue while the driver of a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer was traveling westbound on Northwest 24th Street. Finch’s Altima was struck when the driver of the Mountaineer failed to yield the right of way and attempted to turn onto North Jefferson Street. Finch and her two passengers were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Finch was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the Mountaineer was uninjured in the crash and was arrested on charges of intoxicated manslaughter, intoxicated assault and injury to a child. The crash remains under investigation.
