One Killed, Three Critically Injured in Head-On Collision on U.S. Highway 62/180 in Hudspeth County

Hudspeth County, TX. (June 16, 2020)- One person was killed, and three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on June 11, 2020 in Hudspeth County, Texas. The accident occurred around 8:45 a.m. on U.S. Highway 62/180. Police reported that 48-year-old Javier Eduardo Terrones was driving a 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck westbound while a 2001 Nissan Altima was traveling eastbound on the highway. The two vehicles crashed head-on for unknown reasons. The driver of the Nissan was declared dead at the scene. Javier Eduardo Terrones was transported to University Medical Center with incapacitating injuries. 18-year-old Javier Eduardo Terrones Jr. and 35-year old Jose Renteria were passengers of the GMC. Both passengers were transported to Del Sol Medical with serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
