One Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on State Highway 249 near Hollister Road in Harris County

Harris County, TX. (October 11, 2021)- One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on October 9, 2021, in Harris County, Texas. The accident occurred around 9:45 p.m. in the 14700 block of State Highway 249 near Hollister Road. Deputies reported that a Dodge Journey was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it crashed head-on into a Toyota Matrix. The driver of a passing Toyota Tundra attempted to avoid the Dodge, but the two vehicles then collided. The Dodge continued to travel the wrong way and crashed into a Honda Accord. The driver of the Matrix was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The drivers of the Tundra and Honda were uninjured in the crash. No further details have been provided at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
