5 injured in DUI rollover crash at Garland Rd and Lakeland Dr
DALLAS, TX – Five people went to the hospital Saturday night after an alleged drunk driver caused a rollover collision in NE Dallas, reports 5 NBC DFW.
The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Garland Road and Lakeland Drive, which is near the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden.
The investigation thus far indicates that a 22-year-old drunk driver rear-ended a GMC Terrain at a stoplight, causing the SUV to overturn.
Four occupants from the SUV were hospitalized, two with serious injuries.
Medics also transported the driver who caused the accident to the hospital with critical injuries. Authorities identified her as Arianna Alvarez.
Alvarez faces charges of intoxication assault. The investigation continues.
