Motorcyclist killed in road rage hit-and-run in SE Wise Co.

RHOME, TX – A 55-year-old motorcyclist died Friday after a pickup truck hauling a trailer forced him off of the highway in Rhome, reports Aol.

The incident happened around 7:15 a.m. near United Ag and Turf on US-287 between TX-114 and Pioneer Road.

Police say the motorcyclist crashed after the driver of a pickup truck forced him off of the road and then fled the scene. Authorities think the crash may have been caused by road rage.

Medics transported the motorcyclist, identified as Jerry Wayne Newton, to the hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Police are looking for a dark or silver pickup truck that is hauling a trailer. Anyone with information or tips to share can contact the Rhome Police Department.
