8 hurt in crash on W University and Thomas J Egan in Denton

DENTON, TX –  Eight people, including two children, sustained injuries in a two-vehicle collision earlier this month at a busy intersection in Denton, reports the Denton Record-Chronicle.

The incident happened on Friday, March 3rd, around 10:34 p.m. at the intersection of West University Drive and Thomas J. Egan Road, which is just northeast of the Milestone Mansion.

The investigation indicates that a Toyota carrying four people collided with a Honda, also carrying four people.

It’s still unclear how the crash happened, but police arrested the 34-year-old driver of the Toyota on charges of driving while intoxicated and child endangerment.

Two children from the Toyota were hospitalized, including an unrestrained five-year-old and a nine-year-old. The force of the collision threw the five-year-old through the back window of the Toyota.

The remaining six people involved in the crash were also hospitalized with non-critical injuries.
