SUV strikes, kills pedestrian at Preston Rd and Lorimar Dr

PLANO, TX – A 73-year-old pedestrian died on Monday morning after a vehicle struck them near a busy intersection in Plano, reports DFW Scanner.

The incident occurred around 6:51 a.m. at the intersection of Preston Road and Lorimar Drive, which is just east of Lakeside Lake.

Police say that a southbound SUV hit the pedestrian as they attempted to cross Preston Road in an area not designated for foot traffic.

The elderly pedestrian died at the scene of the accident. Authorities have not yet disclosed the victim’s identity.

No other injuries have been noted in connection with the incident.

A full investigation is underway.
