Police share details of fatal Arlington crash at Green Oaks and Waterview

ARLINGTON, TX – Authorities have released additional details regarding Monday’s fatal collision at a busy intersection near Ditto Elementary in West Arlington.

According to DFW Scanner, an 18-year-old man died in a collision with a pickup truck at the intersection of West Green Oaks Boulevard and Waterview Drive.

The investigation thus far indicates that the victim ran a red light while speeding northbound on Green Oaks Boulevard and collided with an eastbound pickup truck. The force of the crash caused the first vehicle to overturn several times after hitting a light pole.

The driver of the northbound vehicle died at the scene of the crash. Authorities have not yet released his name to the public.

The other driver sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.

Police suspect that speed may have been a primary factor in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
